During a recent Zoom call, we discussed a brand name change that could have easily thrown off product visibility if ignored.
One of Mudd House Mercantile’s suppliers, formerly known as Zero Waste Club, recently rebranded to Re:gn. Instead of letting outdated pages linger, Katie (who runs Mudd House Mercantile) immediately made the necessary updates.
Here’s what we tackled — and why it matters.
Fast Website Updates to Stay Aligned
We recommended updating the supplier’s collection page to reflect the new brand name. Specifically:
- Updating the Page Title, Title Tag, Meta Description, URL, and page copy to mention "Re:gn"
- Refreshing images if needed to align with the new branding
Katie didn’t waste time. She pushed all updates live within a week.
Building the Next Action Plan
We also discussed writing a new blog post — not focused solely on the name change, but using it as a jumping-off point to talk about:
- Why Mudd House Mercantile sells Re:gn products
- The brand’s story and values
- Why it matters to eco-conscious buyers
This would build fresh, relevant content around the new brand name to help future rankings.
Research Notes — and a Quick Reminder About Milled.com
While researching Re:gn, I found that they announced the acquisition of Zero Waste Club via their newsletter, which was also published on Milled.com.
Reminder:
Milled.com is a free platform that aggregates brand newsletters. Submitting your own newsletters there is a smart move for free exposure, authority, and potential backlinks.
What Happened After the Updates
After the updates, Mudd House Mercantile’s collection page moved from the top of page two to the first page of Google for "Zero Waste Club."
Google also crawled and reindexed the page quickly, showing healthy site activity and responsiveness.
While rankings for the new brand name "Re:gn" are still developing, the early movement confirms that fast updates and optimization deliver real SEO results.
In SEO, momentum matters — and these small moves stack up over time.
Real updates. Real indexing. Real movement.
