Does AI Know What Your Brand Is Known For?
AI is redefining how brands gain recognition online. But does it accurately identify what your brand is known for? Try searching "What is [your brand name] known for?" on Google or simply enter your brand name in ChatGPT. Does AI highlight your expertise, or is your brand being overlooked?
Test Your Brand Recognition with AI
Try this simple test:
- Go to Google and search: “What is [your brand name] known for?”
- Ask ChatGPT the same question or just plug in your brand name all by itself.
For example, let’s check some members of Mastering P.o.P’s Inner Circle:
- What is Trendzio known for?
- What is Mudd House Mercantile known for?
- What is South Table Sheds known for?
If AI doesn’t clearly define what your brand is about, it’s time to take action.

Are You a Top Recommendation?
Now, take it a step further. Instead of searching for your brand by name, ask:
“Best [your industry] brand online.”
For example, if Mudd House Mercantile sells sustainable goods and eco-friendly products, they should check:
- Search: “Best sustainable goods or eco-friendly product brand online.”
- Do they appear on the first page?
- If not, who does?
If your brand doesn’t rank, it’s time to position yourself as the best.
How to Improve Your Brand’s AI Recognition
Write a Blog Post Claiming Your Authority
If your brand isn’t ranking for top keywords, write a blog post that says:
“Why [Your Brand Name] Is the Best [Your Industry] Brand Online”
This helps Google and AI recognize your brand’s position in the market. Explain:
- What makes your brand stand out.
- Why customers trust you.
- What unique value you bring to the industry.
Write a Competitor Comparison Post
If your competitors appear on the first page, write a brand comparison blog to compete.
For example, if Mudd House Mercantile doesn’t rank for “best sustainable brands,” but a competitor does, they could write:
- “Mudd House Mercantile vs. [Competitor]: Which Sustainable Brand Is Right for You?”
Big brands do this all the time. By including your competitor’s name in the title, you increase your chances of ranking alongside them.
Take Action: Own Your Brand Narrative
If AI and Google don’t recognize your brand, it’s time to take control of the conversation. Start by:
- Searching for your brand’s visibility.
- Writing content that positions you as the best.
- Comparing your brand to competitors to increase search visibility.
